PLUEYS/RAIN SKIMMERS/GALOSHES

How do I care for my Plueys / Rain Skimmers / Galoshes?
Good cleaning and storage ensures that your investment in rubber footwear will go a long way. Wipe them clean and dry after every use.

To clean Plueys and Rain Skimmers, wash the outside surface with a sponge and warm soapy water. The insoles of Rain Skimmers may also be washed separately. Galoshes may be washed inside out. Avoid using a rough brush and the use of solvent detergents.

Always dry at room temperature and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight which may contribute to drying out and stiffening of materials (http://www.rubberboots.com)

Why is the surface of my rubber footwear turning grey? The surface of rubber footwear is finished with silicone and lacquer during manufacture. However, silicone can be decomposed and can wash away relatively easily if the rubber footwear is heavily used or constantly exposed to direct sunlight. In such situation, the surface is particularly vulnerable to UV radiation, which will cause the surface to become grey or even worse, perish. It helps to apply silicone rubber conditioner on your rubber footwear, which will not only avert the fading, but also maintain the elasticity of the rubber boots. (http://www.rubberboots.com) There are various brands of silicone rubber conditioner available in your local hardware or home/office store.

my+brolly

Will the paint on my+brolly umbrellas last? Product testing was conducted to ensure quality of our hand-painted umbrellas. The acrylic paint used is waterproof and meant to last. If properly taken care of and stored, my+brolly umbrellas last a long time.

How do I care for my+brolly umbrellas? Overly gusty winds may cause your my+brolly parasol to snap, please close it immediately to protect it during such situation. After each use, let rainwater dry off completely and check for stains or outdoor residue left--wash them away with warm water and mild soap. Let it dry normally in a shady place rather than placing it in direct sunlight or high heat--the worst place to store your umbrella is next to a window or in the back of your car, as UV rays will destroy the exterior. Best to prop it up against a wall with its head pointing down. Like with any piece of art, be always careful in handling/folding your my+brolly umbrella. When folding your umbrella, straighten out each pleat as you go all the way around the umbrella. Remember, your my+brolly parasol is not a walking stick or cane, it is a work of art!
